Prouz and Kons: Both Sides of the Issue

By "Prouz and Kons", hopefully you knew that I meant "pros and cons". It's just that misspelling words is hip. Here are pros and cons for both Total Annihilation and Super Smash Bros. Brawl:

TA

Pros:
  • Allows in-depth thinking
  • Let's you blow stuff up (who doesn't like that?)
  • Has a wide variety of units and structures
  • Has multiplayer engines that (surprisingly) still work

Cons:

  • Has blocky graphics
  • Has a unit limit
  • AI isn't challenging enough
  • Multiplayer engines are faulty
  • Too old to work on many modern computers

Brawl

Pros:

  • Has a variety of characters and modes to play
  • Allows you to play trials of classic video games
  • Has many different control types
  • You can punch, kick, and whack the heck out of people
  • Features cutting-edge graphics
  • Has a wide selection of music and stages
  • You can build your own stages
  • The console that the game is played on is popular

Cons:

  • Has clone characters (example: Toon Link and Link)
  • Online play isn't all that great
  • Last part of adventure mode is way too hard
  • Not enough talking goes on
  • Characters unlocked easily
  • Works for one, and only one, console

That wasn't one-sided, was it? This is not meant to "prove" either game wrong or boring or cruddy, just to show certain people (hint, hint, Saulamin!) that both games have their strengths and weaknesses. No offense was meant for anyone.

  1. RB, I'm proud! Good view on both games! Glad you're fighting your Totalaphobia! Also, I agree, Brawl is very fun too! Hopefully Saulamin will see the light on the road to Damascoos and stop persecuting the Smashbrews (and get his name changed to Paulamin)! xD
    That was sooo fun...
    =)
P.S. Flo Rida is great so far! (Sang You and Me all the way down...)

  2. I have yet to hum "Healing Begins" all the way to that Greek bank "Justynos Biebreis"!

    Now that was fun!

I'm having a blast whacking Goombas and eating fruit with Yoshi on "SMG2". Plus, I bounced on some robot guy's head as Spring Mario!

    Aaaaaand...

YOU BETTER POST SOMETHING ON MY BLOG!

    Have a nice trip. ;)

  4. See Total RB! I have posts all about SMG2. I'm leaving for prison, I mean Europe in three hours. No government conpiracy or anything, haha.

  5. Ryan, all games have unit limits, and they are mostly smaller than TA's. This is especially true since you can modify TA's limit to be up to 10000 units. Pelicandude

  6. Well, no game can hold infinity units, so obviously no game has no unit limit. But in Brawl it isnt really a factor, unlike TA.

  7. I agree. Paul, you can't make absolutely everything a universal. But, as Ben said, there's no way for a game to hold infinity units. But some games don't have that variable. You have to accept the right and not refute whatever comes your way just because it favors your opponent.

  9. Sorry BK, that's not the pic. It's from one of the greatest movies ever: Invictus. It's Nelson Mandela talking with South Africa's Rugby team captain. Sorry to rain on your parade, bud.

  11. Okay Jacob!

PH, can you do anything with that song BK sent u? It would really help SoulSense skyrocket to superstardom. What instruments do you play?

  12. Skyrocket to superstardom? Wow. I could go for that. ;)
And RB, I already told you- Paul plays the triangle!!! xD
    jk
I do think "Breaking Chains" will work though. I have a toon of my own in mind...
Oh, and how's "Hear my Heart" coming?
P.S. Next Democracy's Demise excerpt should be up... tommorow or tonite.
P.P.S. WHich comment Paul? The refuting infinite universal variables? Or the Rugby captain? xD

  13. Well, I got an acoustic Ibenz guitar yesterday, so that would benfit the band.

Finally, a life-long goal complete! Now all I need to do is listen to my instructor and then use it to the best of my ability.

Oh, "Hear My Heart" needs a couple lyric adjustments and a set-in-stone tune, but it won't take long. Just some tough pondering of the deep meaning of the song that is supposed to make all people be beside themselves. Or something like that. ;)

  14. Really RB? Sveetness! I'm no guitar eckspurt, but it sounds formiddable! ;)
Good luck n godspeed on your learning journey! =)
Yup, I'm pretty sure I have lyric tune and background tune for Breaking Chains (And the prechorus (It doesnt really need a tune)). All that remains is to get a concrete Chorus tune- and put all of it into notes- which will be easier with a guitar than a piano for this song, methinx.
Keep on keepin on with HMH, and if u need advice, me n PH are here 4 ya! =D
